Professional Services Database
CKH has always emphasized the importance of community. At the request of Rabbi Baker, Misha ben-David is assembling a roster of CKH members and their professional skills. We specifically seek those with human services skills and training; such as physicians, psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, etc.  By having this information at hand, you will have some excellent choices from within the CKH community when you seek professional services. There may also be rare occasions where it would be helpful to call on you in an emergency situation. If you would please take a moment to email Chaplain Misha ben-David <mbd@austin.rr.com>, you would be performing a mitzvahs that will benefit the entire congregation.

B'nai Mitzvah Havurah Book Drive
Our first event in March requires some advance participation from the group. We are holding a book drive for the Capital Area Reach Out and Read organization (CAROR).  CAROR is an organization which promotes reading to young children, ages 0 - 5.  Books are distributed at area clinics by pediatricians and staff to at risk families in an effort to promote literacy and quality time between parent and child.

Between now and March 19th we ask that you collect gently uses books appropriate for children new born to five years.  We urge you to be creative.  Some ideas are to ask the administrators of your school if you may put out a donation box for CAROR.  Girl scouts, sports teams, music school, local Hangout, or Starbucks are some other places to ask permission.

We shall gather on March 19th, 2-4pm to sort the books and schmooze with a make your own sundae buffet at the Blatt residence address; 3801 Agape Lane, Austin TX 78735.

Please let us know if you can make it, Liz Blatt <lblatt@austin.rr.com> or 329-8127
