Professional Services Database
CKH has always emphasized the importance of community. At the request of Rabbi Baker, Misha ben-David is assembling a roster of CKH members and their professional skills. We specifically seek those with human services skills and training; such as physicians, psychotherapists, social workers, counselors, etc.  By having this information at hand, you will have some excellent choices from within the CKH community when you seek professional services. There may also be rare occasions where it would be helpful to call on you in an emergency situation. If you would please take a moment to email Chaplain Misha ben-David <mbd@austin.rr.com>, you would be performing a mitzvahs that will benefit the entire congregation.

In the Community
The Jewish Community Association of Austin has several events in April commemorating Yom Hashoah and raising awareness of genocide today.  This year, Yom Hashoah is on Tuesday, April 25th.  JCAA is sponsoring "Rally for Darfur" on Sunday, April 30th.  For more information on these events, see JCAA's Events Web Page.

Darfur: Instead of mourning a genocide, what if we could STOP one?  Come on Sunday, April 23rd at 3pm to Congregation Beth Israel for an interfaith gathering.  Hear Brian Steidle, a former Marine Captain and an American observer to the African Union peacekeeping force in Darfur, Sudan.  Mr. Steidle is traveling through the Save Darfur Coalition's Million Voices for Darfur campaign, a campaign to have one million post cards sent to the President asking elected officials to do more to end this genocide.  Post cards will be available that you can sign and send in.  For more information on the Save Darfur campaign, you can go to http://www.savedarfur.org/.
