Florence Melton Adult Mini-School
Join us in a journey of Jewish self discovery. A journey to our past, present and future.  The Florence Melton Adult Mini-School, a project of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is an innovative concept for Jewish learners from all backgrounds, aimed at enabling Jewish adults to learn seriously about our heritage and culture in a challenging and inspiring course of study.  Two informational sessions coming up:  Wednesday July 12th, and Monday August 21st, all at 7:00 pm.  Call Aliza Orent, Director of Jewish Education, at 735-8030 or email aliza.orent@jcaaonline.org for more information or to register.

Not On My Watch - help protect the people of Darfur, Sudan.
Those lucky enough to hear Ruth Messinger from the American Jewish World Service speak about the situation in Darfur last week got a card with the following suggestion for helping to make a difference in stopping the genocide in the Sudan: "Not On My Watch - help protect the people of Darfur, Sudan. Your phone call can make a difference. Pledge to call the White House twice each week. Pledge at www.darfurcalls.org. Or just call President Bush at 202.456.1111 and ask him to assert U.S. leadership to create security in Darfur through an international peacekeeping force, with the expanded mandate and ability to protect all civilians, and to deploy that force in support of existing African Union efforts in Darfur."
