Security and parking arrangements will be different this year.
New information is posted to the High Holy Days web page as we receive it.  It is important for all of us to be aware of the new requirements and procedures in order to avoid delays and experience a better High Holy Days.

Additionally, if you are a member of CKH or have been a guest at our High Holy Days Services in the past, you will receive a separate email in the next 48 hours. If you don't receive that message, contact Cindy <administrator@kolhalev.org>, Marty <newsletter@kolhalev.org>, or Don <info@kolhalev.org>.

Rosh Hashanah Oneg.
As most of you know it takes a great deal of participation and coordination to provide the wonderful high holiday experiences that we have come to know and love and Kol Halev. For those of you who have been asking yourselves "What can I do to help this High Holiday Season?", here's an easy answer... Work with me (Michele Chandler) on the Rosh Hashanah Oneg. It takes very little time and it's sure to be a "sweet experience".

At this time, we have some volunteers but we still need a few more to bring fruit and veggies. I could also use some help putting the food out, cutting apples, and cleaning up afterwards. Please send Michele Chandler an e-mail <mchandlerlmsw@sbcglobal.net> or call at 394-0993.

Remember, it takes a whole congregation to build a memorable high holiday season.

Bar Mitzvah Project

For his Mitzvah project, Daniel Graves is organizing a CKH team to participate in the Alzheimer's Association Capital of Texas Memory Walk on Saturday, September 30th.  (Although the walk is on Saturday, no money will change hands on Shabbat.)  The purpose is to raise money for the local Alzheimer's Association.  While this is a bar mitzvah project and a b'nai mitzvah activity, non-CKHers are welcome to join and walk with us!

To join the team or make a donation, go to http://capitaloftexas.kintera.org/Austin.  Everyone who registers to join Daniel's team (Team CKH) can have his/her own website, even if they are a member of his team, and can collect donations through that website.  If anyone else has a family member with AD and wants to walk in his/her honor/memory, that person's picture can be put up on his/her own web page.  Everyone who raises at least $25 gets a T-shirt!

On September 30, plan to be at the Austin High School east parking lot around 8:00 a.m.  There will be fruit, water, and granola bars for snacks.  Registration lasts for approx. 45 min.  We'll warm up a bit, then walk in a police-escorted bubble on the street.  Closing ceremonies (announcement of winners and door prizes) follow.  The walk is usually over around 10:30.
