On December 17 at 10 am, Austin Post 757 of the Jewish War veterans of the USA (JWV) will host a membership brunch at the at the Dell Jewish Community Center. We are proud to announce that Admiral Bobby Inman (retired) will be our featured speaker. Admiral Inman served as Director of the National Security Agency and as deputy Director of the CIA. He will speak to us on current events affecting Israel and the United States. We invite Jewish Veterans who are not members of post 757 and spouses as our guests at the brunch.
JWV has a richly deserved reputation as an Action organization. The Austin post proudly implements that designation by its four fold mission:
1.Jewish Veterans helping American Veterans
2.Jewish Veterans educating the Austin Jewish Community on the role of Jewish veterans in the United States
3.Jewish veterans supporting the State of Israel
4.Jewish Veterans helping Jewish Soldiers
If you want to learn more about how we do this, please come to our brunch on December 17. To reserve a place, contact Neil Goldman: phone 342 8233, email ngoldman1@austin.rr.com.

Binyamim Tsedaka will address the Jewish community and describe the
Israelite Samaritan way of observing the Torah. The Samaritan Israelites
are the descendants of an ancient people. This visiting Samaritan
scholar from Israel has been invited to the JCAA to speak on the
following topics: the Samaritan Shabbat and Counting of the Omer; their
ancient First Temple era Hebrew script and unusual pronunciation
patterns; how they chant the Torah; why they hold B’nai Mitzvah
celebrations even earlier than the 13th year; how they were able to
maintain the Passover sacrifice every year even for the past 2,000
years; why they hold Mount Gerizim to be a sacred place according to the
Torah; and why they count only seven festival days in the year.
