NO Shabbat Service, Friday, July 27th.

Rebbe & Rebbetzin's Tisch (returns), Friday, August 3rd, 6:30 pm, Rabbi Kerry & Lynda Baker's home.
Shabbat as it should be - at home, surrounded by family and friends with great food, stories, songs, and of course, schmoozin'!  A great Kol Halev tradition, all are welcome to the home of Rabbi Kerry, Lynda & Emily Baker.  Please bring a dish to share: dairy/pareve only.  Please call (512) 419-0945 or email Rabbi Baker <rabbi@kolhalev.org> to RSVP.

Aryeh Harif Bar Mitzvah, Saturday, August 11th, 10:00 am, JCAA Community Hall.
The Koppelman-Harif family would like to invite the congregation to join them in celebrating Aryeh's Bar Mitzvah.  Kiddush luncheon following service. Please RSVP to <Aryehbarmitzvah@gmail.com>.

Kabbalat Shabbat, Friday, August 17th, 7:30 pm, ECP Multi-purpose Room.
Join us for our regular Friday night Shabbat Service.

Chevrat Shlosha Devarim (CSD), Saturday, August 18th, 10:00 am, JCAA Community Hall.
Join us as young and old alike help lead this warm and intimate service. Many of our B'nai Mitzvah students (past & present) lead prayers and chant Torah. Please contact Reuven Robbins (453-5456 or <rrobbins@austin.rr.com> ) if you would like a part in the service. A kiddish luncheon follows the service. If you would like to help sponsor the luncheons, send your tax-deductible contributions to the CKH office (with a note designating if for this purpose).

No Torah Study in July as Rabbi is on vacation.  
While Rabbi Baker is taking vacation (during July), he is still available by phone for emergencies and other serious situations.  He will not go to his office on a regular schedule, lead services, or host Rebbe's Tisch.  If you need to reach him, call his cell phone.

Kol Halev Gala

Mark your calendar for the Kol Halev Gala on Saturday, November 17th, 7:00 - 10:00 p.m.  Congregation Kol Halev will celebrate its 10th year anniversary and Rabbi Kerry Baker’s 30th anniversary of his ordination, with a special gala called Starry Night -- a celebration event for the families of Congregation Kol Halev and the Austin Jewish community.

Starry Night will be a fabulous gala with food, drink, entertainment, and live and a silent auction. That’s where you come in  ....

First, save the date and come help us have a wonderful celebration and fund-raising event.  Second, help us make this a night to remember by volunteering.  Marcia Hoffman <sungoddess47@hotmail.com> is the general chair of the Gala Committee.  If you have specific skills or interest please email Marcia with that information. This will be a special event if each of us steps up to help.  If you can help with the auctions by organizing or soliciting donations, contact Michele Chandler at <mchandlerlmsw@sbcglobal.net> or 762-3663.

Dining for Darfur - Austin, Monday, August 27th ..... mark your calendar now!
For a list of supporters, visit the JCAA web page, http://www.shalomaustin.org/.  For the success of this event, we need to persuade restaurants to commit their participation in Dining for Darfur - Austin soon.  This might mean more volunteers or more restaurants per volunteer. If you have not been assigned any restaurants and would like to do so, please e-mail Alex Winkelman at <DiningForDarfuraustin@yahoo.com>.
