Rick Recht in Concert, Saturday, February 9th,
7:00 pm, JCAA Community Hall.
Rick Recht is the top-touring musician in Jewish music playing over 150
concerts a year in the United States and abroad. Recht is widely
recognized for his appeal to youth and family audiences not only as an
exceptional musician, singer/songwriter, and entertainer, but as a role
model for involvement in Jewish life. He has become an icon for
Jewish youth in the United States, elevating the medium of Jewish music
as a powerful and effective tool for developing Jewish pride and
identity among the masses.
Temple Beth Shalom proudly hosts this show. Advance
ticket prices are $10 for students and $18 for adults, $12/$20 at the

NCJW Hosts State Rep Mark Strama For Lunch, Tuesday,
February 12th, 11:15 am - 1:00 pm, 201 E. Ben White (the new
administrative offices of Planned Parenthood of Texas).
State Rep Mark Strama will be NCJW's special guest for a lunch
discussion on how we can help Texas move forward with an agenda that
respects women and takes down barriers to contraceptive access,
comprehensive sexuality education, and reproductive health. Newcomers

Award Dinner, Tuesday, February 12th.
Torch of Liberty Honoree: Austin Ventures
The award is given biennially to an Austin business or civic leader in recognition and appreciation for identifying and responding to community needs, promoting respect and fair treatment, and helping to build a culture in which indifference is unacceptable and discrimination is counteracted by action and involvement. The award will be presented by Lance Armstrong and ADL National Executive Director, Abe Foxman.
Audrey & Raymond Maislin Humanitarian Award Honoree: Helen & Milton Smith, Posthumously
The Raymond and Audrey Maislin Humanitarian Award is given annually to an individual or organization for work in furthering greater harmony and cooperation in our communities. Ray and Audrey Maislin, committed national ADL leaders, established the award in 2005 to recognize their life-long commitment to ADL.The dinner honoring both Austin Ventures and Milton
and Helen Smith will take place:
