Kabbalat Shabbat, Friday, May 9th, 7:30 pm, ECP Multi-purpose Room.
Join us for our regular Friday night Shabbat Service.

Natalie Blum Becker will be called to the Torah as a Bat Mitzvah during our Shabbat morning service Saturday, May 10th at 10:00 am in the JCAA Community Hall.  The service will be followed by a celebration including a luncheon and ballroom style dancing.  If you will attend the luncheon, RSVP to Don Becker <dbecker@austincc.edu> by Wednesday, April 30.

Yom HaZikaron Community Commemoration, Wednesday, May 7th, 7:00 pm, JCAA Community Hall

Every country has its day of remembrance, and Israel - whose creation and survival as a state has been marked by so many losses - decided to designate the day preceding Yom Ha'atzma'ut, Independence Day, as its day of commemoration for the fallen.  On this day, we recall and mark the pain of our recent and not so recent losses in public and in private.

Please join us for a special commemoration of Israel’s Fallen.  Pay tribute, along with area clergy, members of the Israeli community, and other special guests.  A screening of With all Your Soul will be shown, a documentary about Major Roi Klein, who gave his life in the Second Lebanon War.  For additional information contact Pam Prais at (512) 735-8034 or <pam.prais@shalomaustin.org>.

Volunteers Needed for Israel@ 60 Celebration

Austin’s Israel@60 celebration is right around the corner and we need only two hours of your time between Saturday, May 10th and Tuesday, May 13th.  Volunteers are needed to:  (1) help in the Israeli Shuk where all of Austin is invited to purchase Israeli made products (Saturday through Tuesday); and (2) assist at Israel@60 stations (Sunday only).  Volunteer Coordinator:  Kelly Finkel <kfinkel@gmail.com> or 576-7279.
