Mazel tov to Justin Rhudy as he graduates Summa Cum Laude from The University of Texas at Austin, a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  He is the son of Dan & Melodye Glina and the grandson of Karen & Bob Glina.
 
Mazel tov to Caitlan ("Caity") who graduated from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts (in Houston) and has been accepted to Carnegie Mellon University where she will major in Vocal Performance at the School of Music.  She is the daughter of Dan & Melodye Glina and the granddaughter of Karen & Bob Glina.

Gabrielle Reynolds will graduate from New Fairfield High School (in Connecticut) at the end of June.  She plans to attend Western Connecticut University in Danbury in the fall.  She is the daughter of Mike & Arlene Reynolds.

David Isaac Zelinsky is graduating from Anderson High School on June 5th.  He will start college as a 'summer school freshman' at the University of Texas (Austin) on June 16th!  He is the son of Cecile & Martin Zelinsky.

Florence Melton Adult Mini-School
"As the new year of 5769 begins, want some Drama in your life?"

Join the current Florence Melton Adult Mini-School students on a trip through the drama, intrigue, mystery, intellectual challenges, spirituality, richness, and continuity of Jewish life.  You'll find stories of war and peace, family feuds, battles for revenge and for power, passion, romance, and legal wrangling.  Our ancestors have stories that could rival the best action adventures.  And it's all in the name of our heritage as Jews.  Try the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School.  The Mini-School for Maximum Learning. I t's not rated PG and it's not for kids.

Hot Talk: Summer in the City Speaker Series

The schedule was announced this week for "Hot Talk:  Summer in the City" Speaker Series and it features three panel discussions focused on Austin, economic growth, counter terrorism, and electoral politics.  All programs are sponsored by the Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), a division of the Jewish Community Association of Austin.  The events will take place at the Dell Jewish Community Campus, located at 7300 Hart Lane near Mo-Pac and Far West Blvd. in Northwest Austin, and are free and open to the public.  Lisa Benjamin Goodgame, JCRC Assistant Director, stated that the programs promise to be engaging and provoke important community dialogue.  She said the annual Hot Talk series reserves “the hottest topics for the hottest time of the year.”

Featuring Angelos Angelou, Principal of Angelou Economics; Sally Campbell, Executive Director of Envision Central Texas; Dr. Mark Dotzour, Chief Economist of the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University; and Larry Warshaw, Principal of Constructive Ventures

Is Austin a Terror Target?
Wednesday, June 25th, 7:00 pm.
Featuring Fred Burton, Counter terrorism Expert at Stratfor and author of Ghost:  Confessions of a Counter terrorism Agent, and FBI Special Agent G. Charles Rasner.

What’s the Matter with Kansas Electoral Politics?
Wednesday, July 9th, 7:00 pm.
Featuring former Bush adviser and ABC News Political Contributor Matthew Dowd; In the Pink Texas Blog Editor Eileen Smith; Harvey Kronberg of The Quorum Report; and Wayne Slater of The Dallas Morning News and author of Rove Exposed: How Bush’s Brain Fooled America.
